All that stupid-looking wafting, dancing-in-the-air, effeminate hand and elbow display (and that's what it is - - ostentatious display, but on a grand scale), coupled with the upward gazing with those ever-so-wistful smiles - - I'll bet this "gets" you every time, doesn't it, you Lang lovers? Aren't we fortunate to be living at a time when such a unique pianistic genius (many viewers' favorite descriptor) has been bestowed upon us for our musical enrichment and enjoyment? Thanks to his wondrous interpretations, we can now be assured that every last bit of emotion and passion and drama will be extracted from whatever he chooses to play. And to think that he manages all this while constantly making it obvious that he, in contrast to all those other poor, miserable pianists, truly ENJOYS himself as he performs!
